Re: [IRCA] Ultralight web site?

Hi Nick,

In keeping with the "piecemeal documentation" theme that the Ultralight
Movement has used thus far (and commented upon by a distinguished IRCA
ex-President today), the revised 2007 Shootout "Final Summary" and the revised
"DT-200VX Verdict" were posted on the IRCA list at 0004 PST yesterday, January
3, under the title of "Sangean DT-200VX Digital Wonder Fully TP/TA Qualified."
This new revision will be incorporated in the 2007 Shootout File, which
will be made available to IRCA and dxer.ca if revision or republishing is deemed
necessary by the IRCA Technical Column (or dxer.ca). The oversight occurred
because of the bizarre omission of any description of a 9 kHz split
capability in the DT-200VX operating manual, which of course persuaded the hapless
reviewer that such a capability did not exist.

The SRF-PSY03 model is obviously electrically identical to the SRF-59,
and the alignment procedure is also the same. The actual alignment is quite
routine, but the disassembly and reassembly of the tight-fitting case (and
the somewhat tricky dial gear alignment) are the challenges. Because of some
variation in sensitivity levels in new units, I am trying to find the ultimate
possible sensitivity level for the design, and plan a couple more
service-manual alignments to find that out.

Thanks to all who helped track down service manuals and other
documentation for the SRF-59-- it was greatly appreciated.

              73 and Best Wishes,

            Gary DeBock
