Paul, personally, I'm OK with that.  I like the idea of Eastern Time/Pacific Time etc.  Then no need whether someone is talking about daylight savings or standard time.  Also saves space.  How about using the following
when reporting:  "PT or MT or CT or ET or AT".  For most of us, this will suffice just fine.  For International loggings, though, I suggest UTC is the only option that makes sense........Walt.
