WOWO also was one of the first stations that I DXed. That was in the '80s,
when I still lived on Long Island. I remember the "We'll make your day"
slogan. I also remember Dugan Fry (sp.?), but I can't remember when he was
with the station. 

After I moved to Columbia, Mo., I often would listen to WOWO around
midnight, when I was unwinding after work. That was in the mid-1990s, and I
would call every now and then to request a song. Hard to believe that was
only 10 years ago.

It's too bad you had not found it before 1996, as WOWO was starting into
its current News/Talk format.  However, they did have a live overnight DJ
playing music until March, 1996.
