[IRCA] Radio Shack 12 volt 5 ah battery

Pat,

I recently purchased a Radio Shack (23-289) 12 v dc 5 ah battery to power the Palstar R-30 cc.  On the box it says not to charge with an automotive/marine type charger.  It also says that the maximum initial charging current is 1.5 amp.  I charge mine with a 12 v. wall wart.  In the Drake owners manual the R-8 B draws 2 amps at 12 volts.
