Once again, I recorded some spectrum while getting ready for work. As
others have said conditions weren't as good as the past couple of days,
though not bad. This time I taped 705-895 kHz
KNOM was barely there this time, though KFQD was topping KXL (as usual)
at 1400. No other Alaskans were noted, not even KBBI.
JOIB-747 & JOUB-774 were good at times, and bits of JOBB-828 were there
on occasion.
738 had someone w/Asian pops 1350-1400 and what sounded like a woman in
Chinese afterwards. Probably Taiwan.
855 had presumed North Korea weakly, w/music and time pips typical of NK
There was a het on 819 under local powerhouse KGNW, plus bits of audio
on 837 (Chinese) and 846.
I also tried DXing on the car radio while driving to work today. The
radio can be set for 9 kHz tuning by holding in the scan button while
turning the radio on. I heard several hets, but no audio. I probably
would have had better luck earlier in the week if I'd thought of it
then. As it was, there were screaching hets on 972, and 747, plus less
pronounced hets on others (it's hard enough tuning around, let alone
take notes, to take notes when you're driving in rush hour traffic when
you're driving when it's dark and raining).
