I carried a tape recorder, a YB300E, earphones, batteries, and connection cords in carry-on baggage to make sure I didn't lose them from DFW airport, through San Francisco and into Shanghai and back last September and from DFW airport to Vancouver and back for our Alaska Inside Passage cruise (and, unfortunately, didn't record a thing this September.

I think once last year security sought an explanation after seeing the material via x-ray ... can't remember at which airport ... and no challenges this year.
