Did a barefoot Eton E1 listening session this morning
from 1305 - 1355 UTC. For me, the best of season.
Fair to very good audio on the following channels
(100% of which was recorded on a Sony MD for later upload)
531 - Japanese, 558 - Japanese sounding YL, 567 - Japanese,
585 - Russian (I think.. need to review MD, 594 - Japanese,
612 - initially Japanese, later English (assume AUS)
621 - Chinese I believe or Korean (will review MD)
639 - Chinese, 648 muffled audio in splash, 666 - Japanese with full sync-lock (about a 7-8 on the number scale)
702 - audio (need to review MD), 720 - jumble, 738 - Korean, 747 Japanese on top with others,
756 - audio, 765 audio, 774 Japanese and jammer underneath at an 8 out of 10
783 - audio, 792 - audio, 801 near-audio, 828 Japan, 837 - audio, 846 - audio,
855 - korean on top of jumble and hum, 864 - audio, 873 - Japanese
918 - near audio, 927 - audio (to review on MD), 936 - solid lang audio (will review MD),
945 - Japanese in full sync lock, 954 audio (to review), 963 China in Russian at armchair copy and station ID,
972 - Korean also at an 8 or 9 level, 981 hammering local on 980,
1008, 1017, 1053 solid carriers and/or audio
1116 - audio, 1134 - audio, 1143 - audio, 1179 - near audio against KEX! (IBOC Off)
1197 - carrier/audio, 1242 carrier/audio, 1287 superb Japanese....
After this I swooped up to 1503, 1548, 1566 and 1575 and only found decent audio
on 1566.
I will split up the audio files as well as offer the complete stream on DXer.ca
at some point today for those who are interested in what an E1 sounds like on the
West coast running the whip antenna only.
