The TA session is about over with a couple LWBC still being heard. Iceland
didn't come up any better than at the first, in fact went down and so far
hasn't come close to the 0225 utc level. Presently, 162 France is the best
at weak/medium level, 0459 utc; 183 Germany poor/weak; 189 Iceland
poor/weak; 198 England poor/weak.
MW produced a little audio earlier, 1062's medium het finally produced some
poor audio at 0357 utc; 1134's medium het produced poor audio at 0405 utc.
1215 was never more than a weak het. Many hets were heard but seemed to
predominantly be on the lower half of the band. To bore you, a check
beginning at 0347 utc produced audible hets on: 531, 567, 639, 693, 711,
738, 747, 756, 765, 783, 828, 855, 864, 873, 882, 891, 909, 927, 936, 945,
954, 999, 1008, 1044, 1053, 1071, 1107, 1116, 1134, 1179, 1206, 1215, 1251,
1269, 1377, 1422.
A run through the 10kc channels for IBOC hiss, in SSB mode, at 9:23 p.m.
PDT, produced hiss on these channels, using the 1600' north E/W wire: 750
weak/moderate; 800 moderate/strong; 820 moderate; 1060 strong; 1100
moderate; 1180 weak/moderate; 1320 strong; 1520 strong with the low-pitched
digital signal heard on 1530; 1540 moderate; 1630 weak/moderate.
(I have two 1600' E/W longwires, one to the north and one to the south,
spaced roughly parallel, above adjacent fences approximately 400 feet apart.
I've found they aren't parallel since I get better TA LWBC on the south E/W
wire, and often less storm static on the south wire too.)
162 France has been at weak level while typing this (now 0519 utc), and is
gradually fading away. I'm not sure where its transmitter is, but France is
approaching full daylight, according to my DX Atlas program.
