[IRCA] TP/DU DX 9/14

It wasn't a bad morning after I realized the comment Bill Block made to
me on the phone, that the HD hash would not all that bad up here on the
coast. After LSR in CA. At 1400, the only hash I noted of any strength
here was 1179 khz from KEX 1190 and even JOOR was poking through that.
Unless the NW gets loaded with IBOCers, the dial will still run fair
clean here. But time will tell.
OK on to the DX, I sat on 1026 khz from 1310-1330 trying to make out
two stations that would change places, one was DZAR with a filipino
preacher, then non stop EZL pops, finally at 1330 "EZ 10-26" with an
Aussie accented gal, so 4AA MacKay I presume which matches their format
and nothing else seems to match. This is ironic, as this station used to
be 4MK and one of the strongest Australians ever back in the early 80s.
I used to regularly listen to Robbie Broadfield's Top 30 countdown each
week. Boy has conditions chaged from the early 80s. 1026 MacKay I have
not heard in a long time. DZAR is more common these days. But at least a
tenative log of the new call. I will send them a CD.
I had a burst on Chinese before 1300 on 1017 and a bunch of other
channels but they did not stay in like yesterday. 1206, 963, 1323, were
all there and 918, 945, and 981 at times too. But I did not tune around
as much this morning as I was more interested in 1026 khz. There were
also a bunch of other stations on 1026 u/DZAR/4AA. One sounded Filipino
(Tagalog) and maybe a CC.
