Here on the Cape, reception was not difficult as expected. During the first
hour I copied lots of sound cuts from movies, sweep tones, dial tones,
whoop-whoop tones, voice IDs and normal CW IDS all on 1360. Copy was best
for me on USB, but I detected no "carrier" on 1362.5 with Spectran.
I would think if they were going to do a "quassi QRSS" test, one should know
the exact time (say TOH and BOH for 5 minutes as a separate test) and
duration for best results. I am a rank novice at Spectran but, if only a
portion of a five minute loop containing voice and other sound effects, for
example, contained this slow code at a different offset, how would you know
when to change from regular reception to Spectran QRSS?
