Re: [IRCA] the elusive KOHI 1600

To Bill in B.C. and others,

KOHI-1600 not only has a miserable signal, but ID's seem to be few and
far between. There is audio on their web site, but it is apparently delayed
about 3 minutes from the transmitted signal. If you notice a talk format
that is not "progressive" (KOPT), you probably have the right one.

My recommendation is to try for them around sunset, when their signal
comes up significantly (to about S2 here, way under KVRI). If you can listen
to the talk content and then hear the same audio on the web site about 3
minutes later, you probably have as much of an "ID" as you are likely to get.
KVRI is a big problem here also, and their overwhelming signal (combined with
the banging Punjabi music) makes KOHI a very tough catch even here, 100 air
miles from KOHI. If you live near salt water, it definitely helps!

                    73, Gary in Puyallup, WA
