[IRCA] TIS-1610 & 1640

Mike,

Took a listen for MCAS New River TIS-1640, and instead I heard a TIS rebroad-
casting NWS forecasts for coastal NC waters. I believe this is at Hampstead,
Pender County, down the coast on US-17.

Appeared that the rebroadcast NWS station was marginal and was being overridden
by another NWS station.

I did also hear a deeper male voice mixed in there with a quick reference to
"highway," and "control." Nothing to indicate that it was the NR TIS.

1610 was alive. Two stations were relaying the NWS Rocky Mount Station. There
was a TIS with a female voice advising residents of trash and grass and clip-
ping pickup date of April 26. And finally another TIS with female voice
with a loop "This is a transfer test...the voice capability...of the year 2000
softwear."

There was a het of about 80 - 100 Hz on the channel, but I didn't measure its
frequency.

I've been hearing these carriers (+ the het) on 1610 for a long time, but now
that I've improved my antennas I'm better able to get audio out of them.
