Re: [IRCA] SP 600 /R390

What can one add? AR 7030, fantastic receiver. Friend & radio buff, Rick
Sitz, loaned me his several years ago. Great dynamic range, pulls 'stations
between stations' better than other fine quality sets. Size perfect.

SDR-1 Anti noise-o sounds very much like FRR-60 blanker, as described by
ET's. Lacking manual, can't say for sure. Noise duplicated, inverted, mixed,
interference gone.

R-390s benefit greatly by good hose out. Friend Dave M., as have others,
runs his thru car wash, air dries, tosses in attic for few months. Try that with
HD stooge radio....

Grease, dust, and - let's not forget the era - all nicely coated
w/nicotine. Cleaning rags come away brown for a reason. Nothing like listening to sigs &
enjoying a Chesterfields..

  Experience indicates R-388's by far most reliable of R-390, 'A', & '388
family. 391 excellent, just an autotune 390. 389 beautiful to watch, slug racks
moved by means of threaded shafts, akin to old reciprocal hand drills. R-392's
scarce, as w/all, word's out.

                                                                             z
