I just checked the KPIG web site & didn't find anything inre cutting back on the AM operation.  It well could be that they realized that their flea power at night wasn't being heard clear of
KGA in San Francisco.  Only DXers like to listen to several stations at the same time & in western S.F. it was/is a mix of Spokane/Piedmont at night.
