Up here, it was a wild ride, Bill. Started at 1425UT, with not much
audio except from Down Under, 702 for example logged //612, poor
signal, but first logging since at least last fall. Then various
Asians started to creep in, with NHK2 stations on 747 774 and
828 peaking at good levels about 1450UT, but only 828 delivered a
good signal for the music box s/off after 1500UT. At one point, I
think 954 was coming in with the strongest audio on the band with
possibly two signals, dominant likely being the Japanese (per the
loop) w/mx. But everything was very erratic in strength, I'd come
back moments later to a fairly good signal, and find it gone, and
unfortunately, nothing was peaking by 1500 as I raced around trying
to find something worth identifying.

High point was logging Taiwan on 1521 again, //7185 and with a better
strength. Almost a "good" level at times, and better than my
previous logging of a few days ago. Finally, 1287 faded up with
fair audio (JJ talk by a couple of men) again briefly at 1518UT as I
write this, and 954 is still showing traces of mx.

Overview:

Strong carrier (there should be audio, but isn't): 531, 1224, 1475

Weak audio, burbles under the splatter: 576, 675 (both DU), 963, 1242

Slightly better audio, occasional words readable etc.: 612, 702 (both
DU), 801 (almost readable w/female vocal mx, couldn't get
direction) 855 (though a hum, dominant signal seemed DU), 1143,
1485, 1557, 1566, 1575 (last 5 all Asian), 1386 logged at 1504UT w/NHK2 s/off.

"If it weren't for splatter, this would be readable", with moments of
readable for sure: 747 774 828 954 (2 signals?) 1287 1521

best wishes,

Nick
