Two good books on Bill Basie, and Sonny Rollins:

"Good Morning Blues" with Basie and Albert Murray, published by Da Capo 
Press, and,"Open Sky" by Eric Nisenson, published by Da Capo Press. Have 
them both...excellent reading.
