After I hit "send," I realized there are a couple of other factors at 
play, especially for Patrick's semi-DX reception. A taller antenna will 
have a different takeoff angle for the signal, so while groundwave 
strength might not change much, skywave strength will. It's very 
complicated science, with more than a little black magic involved, too.
