PS - Though 'gavone' refers to one who makes a lot of money and spends it in 
showy, stupid manner, it can also refer to a pig-ignorant boor, a churlish 
argumentive oaf, blessed with a dearth of fact and a zeal to prove it.

  In context, one could always correctly use gavone thusly: "That Zecchino is 
a gavone."

 Note: Delp's Concordance of Dialects, revised edition, 1568, to the left of 
the entry 'caifon', shows a remarkably good likeness of the undersigned. Draw
