Re: [IRCA] OT: DX Wx

25 years ago at my Ogunquit ME DX paradise I heated with wood, but had
electric as a backup which was needed only when it was worse than -10 F a
few times. I highly recommend wood heat for DX cottages and it is fun to
break kindling off trees when it is -25 F and you've been away for a while
and unprepared to start a wood stove.

Fireplace doesn't contribute to electrical noise
levels like the furnace we recently installed at Burnt
River ON DX site. Minor enough, mostly a problem
that's noticeable during the day. There are times when
cx are worth it when I'll lower the heat slightly and
then raise it when I'm taking a break. But the
fireplace is a nice option I use at times.
