Don,

Yesterday's main story on BBC World was  Global Warming where the
scientists now feel the Arctic ice pack will be totally melted in the
Summer months by 2040.
But if you go back in history, the Oregon Coast has been hit by many
nasty storms. So it happens. This will be the worst one since 1995
though.
