Don't bury anything until you lay it on the ground and test it. Just put it 
close to under your classic elevated Bev and run it the 600 ft or so until 
you hit the brambles.

I have a feeling that it won't have nearly as much signal as your elevated 
1500 ft Bev. It may have as much directivity, but still won't be very useful 
for phasing since you'll always have to use the pot to reduce elevated Bev 
levels.

However, a BUG to the NNE may be just what you need for TA's although a few 
feet of water on the ground will likely spoil it. You'd have to go down a 
few inches so the cows don't end up exposing it.
