Hi all, could somebody explain what these wobblers are, since as far as
I know, we don't get any in the San Francisco bay area, unless you
classify touch lamp interference wobblers, "lol."

Bruce & Bert,
There is often a Wobbler on both 750 and 1100, but I've not heard
anything
lately I would expect to get out beyond near local. That's not to say
there couldn't have been a period of extreme wobbling that then settled
out.
Earlier today 750 and 1100 had what I class as medium Wobblers which
would
typically only be heard if the station itself were coming in enough to
produce a discernable het or maybe very low audio. Right now at 0300Z
I
have both also with medium Wobblers.
Unless you heard something else that sounds similar, I would guess you
heard what I've termed an "outburst". This is when a rather bland
Wobbler
suddenly goes berserk briefly then settles back down. Sometimes this
precedes the transmitter even going off-line for a time. Presumed to
be
some sort of malfunction.
I assume I just missed the 1100 event earlier tonight. Right now both
are
modestly active.
Thanks for the reports. Have to keep an eye on these things, otherwise
they get nasty.
