Likely WUPE (ex-WUHN) in Pittsfield MA.  They have oldies format, and they 
habitually stay on for a couple hours after their nominal sunset shutdown 
time (1900 EDT this month).  Check out their website at http://www.wupe.com - 
it appears to feature the contest that you heard mentioned.
