Tonight lightning crashes were down for a change and I was hearing 1620
WDHP Saint Croix, US Virgin Islands, very strong -- sans past episode with
disruptive signal presumed Cuban jamming in retaliation for their carrying
Radio Marti on Saturday evenings.
The same for 530 RVCI South Caicos, Turks & Caicos Islands, clear as a bell.
1240 ZNS2 Nassau, Bahamas, audible here days though weak, was there but
fighting with the competition and splatter from 1230 WBZT West Palm
Beach. 1540 ZNS1 Nassau, and 810 ZNS3 Freeport, were strong as they
always are day and night.
800 PJB TRW Bonaire, Netherlands-Antilles, was listenable but had to
compete with local splatter from 790 WAXY South Miami, and 810 ZNS3 strong
as local.
Intrigued I tuned to 720 and sure enough RJR Saint Catherine, Jamaica, was
coming in well too. RJR tended to fade nearly completely out, but would
come back at room filing volume a while later.
And of course, Cubans were being heard all over the place. There were even
some US stations! ;-)
All this heard at or about 11:30 pm ET, Aug 21 2006 (0330 UTC 08/22/06).
Quite unusual for so many so good.
