Timely
post. My wife and I are considering traveling to Nova Scotia in October. From
your post and what I've read, it sounds as if you still can get through without
a passport because they won't start enforcing the law until January.
So two
questions: Have others found that to be the case? And if we do go to Nova
Scotia, what are some shouldn't-miss sites? We were told by US customs they
are expecting US citizens to be carrying their passports if going to
Canada this year!
Officially they are not required until next year but if you are going you
had better take yours.
Per CBC Radio, US travel in Canada this year is almost nil. I
have heard the Canadian government is not happy about the new US Passport
policy.
