[IRCA] KXPD, IBOC Text ID, TA season

Hi Pat,

 

Just listened to 1040 kHz again and heard KXPD call letters.  They seem to use the English ID either 2 minutes before the hour, or 2  minutes after the hour.  I'll blame the mistake on playing computer bowling while trying to ID a Spanish speaking station.

 

In the August 2006 edition of Monitoring Times is an article about IBOC.  The author's location is Nashville where he has received the text ID from WOWO Fort Wayne and WOAI San Antonio.  He did not hear the digital audio. 

 

With Norway 1314 signing off the air it will be interesting to see what station will be the first TA heard out West.  VOR on 1323 was heard a couple of times last season, but were only heard here after 0600 UT.  Maybe France on 1206 or UK on 1215 would be likely choices to the heard early in the evening?
