Re: [IRCA] 20 questions about annual DX conditions

I keep saying I will go into my records and find out what months are
the best here, what time of day, etc., but I have never done it. Perhaps
this will prompt me to do so. I would imagine winter is the best time here
in northeast Georgia, but I have caught some stuff during the summer months
too.

Bill and Patrick,

Thanks for your input. Interesting points. It's like I've always known
about how the DX season evolves, but I've never really kept a close eye on
the details... particularly in the last 10 years or so. I usually
(sometimes I don't) take a break during the summer and I don't always start
back up on cue. I think last season caught me off guard and I missed some
good early DX opportunities. (Thank goodness for this group list and fact I
was present for the TA's last season!!!!) - that's something I'll never
forget- not to mention my first Alaskans. It's not my intent to re-cap last
season, but I heard some stations that I thought I would never hear.

To continue on, I know some years are going to be better or worse, but
overall has TP/split-channel DX really changed? (IBOC and more crowded
channels aside.) I would think that it hasn't. Do Hawaiian stations fall
under the same effects, perhaps to a lesser degree, as the other, further
TPs? I guess the reason I posed that question is that I caught 900 KNUI
several years back and have tried hard to catch it again every year since
with no luck. I've heard a few other Hawaiians, just not KNUI. Anyways,
enough questions for now.... I don't know what got into me, hi.
