Well Saul.........I can't prove that Lightning, Thunder Storms and Tornados
do cause E-skip.....or don't for that matter.
However.............I have been DX'ing E skip on TV and FM for 30 Years
now................and I can't count how many times I have received
stations that were right in the Middle of Heavy Thunder Storms and even
Tornadic Weather!! I'm not talking about storms at the Mid Point either...I
mean storms that are right at the Local Station's Site!! Just think how
many times you have been watching E-skip on TV...and have seen the Severe
Weather Alert on the Screen...or the Tornado Warning Scroll across the
Bottom of the Screen. Same with FM E's......always Severe weather Warnings
being announced.
Now...can this be coincidence??? After all We're DX'ing these stations
right in the Middle of their Thunder Storm Seasons. Also......We don't see
the Severe Weather present for ALL E-skip receptions?????
I don't know Saul....I won't say this kind of weather DOES cause
Eskip........BUT..I sure won't say is DOESN'T Either!!!
I'm sure I've had these conditions present for as many station receptions
as not........
Just my 2 cents worth.........
