The one I just got is an R30CC with the Collins filters in both slots.  I
see that they sell this in Europe with 4KHz filters for AM rather than 6KHz.
I may look into changing the 6 for the 4.  So far I am very impressed.  It
doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the R8B, but it also doesn't have
the cost.

I'll post a bit more on this as I gain experience with it.
