I'm not hearing it either, but then I wasn't hearing it last winter 
in any case...

It isn't getting "dark" there until about 0815UT, and the sun rises 
here about 1230UT, so there's not a lot of opportunity 
anymore.  Having said that, I did hear it, and KICY-850 on a ship in 
the southern Gulf of Alaska last June in broad daylight (10AM local 
time). If I hear them in the  daytime down here, I think I'll take it 
as a sign of approaching senility, and keep quiet about it....

Still, the beacon "SQM"-529 was in quite well about 1200UT this 
morning, but that's a lot further south in Alaska than Nome is.
