Hi All,
I finally snagged this one. I believe they
were playing the song "Locomotion" (maybe not) but after the song ended, nice ID
"KBPS - Portland" at 0359 PDT. I didn't think I was ever going to catch
this one. Note: I think this station was mentioned with regard to
KPSU within the last week or so, plus I also had questions a while back. KPSU is
also in Portland on 1450 and runs a carrier current station, slogan: "Portland's
City Wide College Radio".
I thought I'd throw this in also :
From Radio Locator, in
describing a carrier current AM radio: "This is a system where an AM radio
signal is modulated onto the AC power wiring inside a building. The entire
electrical wiring grid of the building acts as a transmitting antenna. (Toasting
the students and faculty with mega RF I'm sure, hi) The system uses very low
power so the range is typically less than a hundred feet, but the station can
usually be picked up on any AM radio that is within the interior of that
building." Think I can catch this from 70 miles away? Hah! Anyways, I can cross off KBPS after 10 years of (sort of)
trying.
Another new catch: 1450 KBKW in Aberdeen
WA a bit earlier this morning. 'Seasons not over yet.
