The last time period I recorded hearing KDKA was in November 1984, when I could catch them even with KTNQ on (at times).  Mostly when KTNQ was off.  My notes show KTNQ started running 24/7 in
January 1977.  Oddly, in 11/84 my notes show I had frequent reception of Roswell as well as Selah WA.  These days I receive Selah fine under L.A. but Roswell is extremely rare.
