ID'd as "105.5 Jack FM" which I've had before here via FM Es. It's new
to me on AM -
KJMP Pierce CO, supposedly 320 watts but sounding much stronger than
that tonight.
------
I just checked KJMP here Dave and they are dominant on the frequency.
It's hard to say if they are on day power since they are semi local to
me. But they do sound unusually strong. I'm about 40 miles SW of them
and they normally don't send much signal in my direction. They are aimed
west right into Fort Collins.
I'm more surprised that you heard KJAC on FM. They have a huge signal
but they are directional away from you. Their 60 dBu service contour
covers all of Cheyenne and all the way south along the I-25 corridor to
the north suburbs of Denver from their transmitter NW of Fort Collins.
That's a distance of around 100 miles. They are licensed to the small
town of Timnath east of Fort Collins. As far as I know their studios are
still in downtown Denver 60+ miles from the transmitter and apparently
well outside of their own 60 dBu service contour. They probably need an
outside antenna to hear their transmitter at the studio.
