Re: [IRCA] TA much the same

Hello Chuck,

Thanks for reminding me of the fact that the vertical section receive the signal.  I completely forgot that detail.  That's really something.  When my antenna is in the NE and NW directions the drive element are near the house which a two story house.   Now the $60,000 question,

Since you guys are talking about 50? vs. 100? I assume you mean the horizontal length of the EWE. In that case, the 50? won?t help at all ? almost all of the pickup of the EWE is from the vertical sections.

Hi Patrick,

I thought that the added 50' would help on the lower medium wave band.  The other morning on the lower band I could only hear JOUB 774, but on the top of the band many TP frequencies were open.  JOAK 594 was heard many times last year with the 5' loop.  Not heard that often with the EWE.  I  have heard TP's on the lower MW, but conditions have to be very good.  I have been hinting to my wife on selling this house when I retire in a few years and buying a small house on a few acres on the Washington coast.  I plan to farm antennas.  The only problems there is no Fred Meyers up that way, you have to drive to Olympia. hi
