[IRCA] TP 26 Nov Victoria version.
A more interesting morning with quite a nice high band lift around local sunrise ~1540UT
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):
828 JOBB 1518UT; noted somewhat weaker at s/off 1540UT, but still strong enough for JOBB ID
945 CNR1 man in Chinese 1525UT //6175
972 HLCA woman in Korean 1529UT, best on north Flag despite heavy 980 splash on that antenna
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling with splash or noise):
594 JOAK 1524UT
774 JOUB 1531UT
1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese 1536UT; also Pachelbel's Canon on piano which might be a theme music for the Chinese broadcast, as have heard it several times now
1593 CNR1 man in Chinese 1539UT, 945, 6175 parallels at various times
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:
693 JOAB //774 1449UT
1017 island choral vocals 1436-7UT, assumed Tonga
1287 woman and man in Japanese 1547UT
1557 woman in Chinese 1541UT, Taiwan?
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)
567 JOIK //594 1524UT
612 woman talking, maybe DU English? 1520UT
747 JOIB //828 1524UT
1017 woman in unID language 1527UT, only heard on north Flag, so CRI?
1305 sounded like Chinese, man and woman talking, not //CNR1 1545UT
1323 woman talking, possibly Russian 1528UT, somebody else there also.
1359 CNR1 big carrier but barely delivered audio; man talking //1593 1540UT
1377 CNR1 man talking //1593 1539UT
1386 NHK2 //774 1538UT; too weak to get ID clearly at s/off a couple of minutes later, but the sequence "J-O-" seemed pretty clear
1458 Nei Menggu RGD //7270SW, very interesting droning vocal music; 1534UT and for several minute afterward
1503 JOUK // 594 1536UT
1575 familiar "Voice of America" by man 1530UT
1575 not quite so familiar Iranian buzz saw (but getting that way), fading over VoA 1531UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)
603 621 702 711 756 864 918 1089 1098 1107 1116 1242 1251 1296 1512 1548 seemed to be Asian;
not much else seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
