Signals felt a bit of a boost this AM but considering I did not hit the
dials until 1420 UTC, a lot of the "sun rise RFI eCrap [or iCrap] " as I
call it... already started to emerge.
So, although I might have had some signal gain over yesterday, the uptick
in domestic splash and "electronic noises" pre/post sunrise cancelled that
out -- that said...
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
KHZ COUNTRY STATION DATE UTC Details
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
567 JAPAN Sapporo NHK1 JOIK 11/4 1420 Japanese man speaking w/
slow (1 - 2 hz) SAH against a female speaker in the background Korean or
Chinese sounding but not Pacific sounding -- (CN-BC)
603 KOREA HLSA Hwaseong KBS2 Happy FM 11/4 1421 Solid Korean pops
taking on one or two Chinese channel stalkers - but winning (CN-BC)
639 CHINA CNR1 Various - 11/4 1422 All alone with Chinese network
programming - down 3-6 db over yesterday easily (CN-BC)
675 CHINA RGD Nei Menggu 11/4 1423 All alone with YL in Chinese - no
sign of Viet or Japanese programming (CN-BC)
720 CHINA CNR(x) 11/4 1424 YL talking formal Chinese -
pretty much non-stop - was spot on frequency as there was a domestic below
it and no sign of any SAH greater than a few hz. (CN-BC)
774 JAPAN/CHINA NHK2 Akita + 11/4 1425 Network programming on
top with Chinese YL underneath -- NOT CNR1 as compared to 639 Khz (CN-BC)
972 KOREA/CHINA HLCA Dangjin + 11/4 1440 Once again, a punishing
signal from Korea but persistent network commentary u/ by Chinese OM
999 CHINA RGD/JGD (t) 11/4 1444 Chinese monologue by OM -
thanks to the heft of 1000 KOMO, I rarely get anything here - poor at best
but definitely not Korean. (CN-BC)
1017 CHINA (RGD) (t) 11/4 1445 A noticeably less former back and forth
YL/OM banter in Chinese with spontaneous "*chung chang guÇngbà dientai...*"
[sorry, was not recording this - another habit I'll need to restore...] -
almost sounded light hearted (which is not CNR1!) (CN-BC)
1089 CHINA (CNR6) (t) 1435 Thundering in and largely along on channel with
slightly more animated non-Mandarin speaking - I believe there is a
parallel on 49 meters - but my pre-SR SW bands are a crap-storm of RFI (a
test ALA100 on a different corner of my property revealed a significantly
quieter environs... (CN-BC)
In my skips up and down the dial there was also interesting (un-documented)
audio on the likes of 819 (KK), 837(CC), 882, 909, 936, 954, 963, 1098,
1107, 1116 (CC), 1179, 1206, 1215 (CC), 1224, 1242, 1278 (CC), 1287, 1305
(CC), 1314, 1323, 1386, 1503, 1557, 1566 (mix), 1575 and 1593 - at times
quite listenable.
As November unfolds, this is often the indicators of decline - after last
nights green salad of semi audible TA's, I'd day what happens next is
anyones guess.
