[IRCA] TP 26 Sep Victoria version.

When live listening, didn't realize quite the depth of Chinese signals this morning; messing around too much with webstreams I guess. Felt that Koreans and Japaneses were weaker today perhaps, and not as much DU. As usual, lots of things missed, I'm sure. No sign of any carrier on 1071 (CFAX-1070 is always nulled here, stops the Flag from melting)

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1334UT

693 JOAB Chinese lessons 1332UT, briefly burying CBU splatter

747 JOIB Chinese lessons 1335UT

774 JOUB Chinese lessons 1335UT, the "weakest" of 747/828/774

828 JOBB Chinese lessons 1336UT

954 JOKR Japanese man talking 1353UT

972 HLCA man and woman in Korean then woman singing folky ballad, guitar accompaniment, but Korean lyrics 1334UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594 1334UT

666 JOBK man talking //594 brief peak at 1336UT

1287 JOHR excited man in Japanese 1347UT mention of Hokkaido, and several mentions of HBC

1566 HLAZ woman in Japanese peaking at 1337UT, continuing to underperform

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

558 HLQH ballad //603 1344UT

603 HLSA ballad //558 1344UT

603 NHK1 man talking //594 1334UT

738 Taiwan Fisheries woman talking //1143 1343UT

846 female ballad, then woman in Chinese 1338UT, best on north Flag

873 JOGB man talking //774 1330UT

918 unID woman in Chinese not //FM95 on Shandong web stream 1351UT. Shandong has been most common Chinese on this channel

936 Anhui RGD man talking // webstream with ~20second delay 1340UT

945 CNR1 man in Chinese //1098 1338UT

1098 CNR1 man talking //945 1338UT

1143 Taiwan Fisheries woman talking //738 1338UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 RNZ National 756, very weak, under JOIK 1336UT

639 CNR1 man talking //945 1352UT

702 NHK2 Chinese lessons //774 1335UT

756 RNZ National woman talking //567 1336UT

864 pop vocal 1357UT; perhaps Korea, judging by previous days loggings, but no // and only generic pips on hour

891 JOHK man talking //594 1347UT

909 JOCB 3 and 1 pips, into intro music for English lessons //774 1400UT

963 CRI //1323 with ballad at 1354UT

1017 man talking, possibly Korean 1334UT

1053 pop music 1356UT; Japan?

1089 female ballad, best on north Flag 1337UT, maybe CNR6?

1134 man talking, Korean? 1345UT

1179 man talking Chinese intonation today 1342UT

1242 JOLF? pop music 2355UT

1323 CRI female ballad //963 1354UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 657 711 819 981 1008 1035  1098 1107 1314 1422 seemed to be Asian;
576 585 612 702 909 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
