[IRCA] TP 22 Sep Victoria version.

The big guns were lower level today. The second tier were something else altogether, especially between about 1335-1345UT when peak conditions occurred. Some Aussies also.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1338UT and many other times

612 4QR pop music, Night Life mention by woman 1359UT, and into fanfare

702 2BL piano music, female vocal 1331UT //612

747 JOIB man in Japanese //774 1346UT

774 JOUB as 747, and many other times

1422 JORF assumed woman in Japanese 1337UT, best on North Flag

1566 HLAZ woman in Japanese 1332UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

792 4RN woman in DU English //576 1336UT

828 JOBB man in Japanese //774 1341UT

873 JOGB woman inJapanese //774 1322UT

972 HLCA man in Korean 1338UT; this one suffered today

1242 JOLF man in Japanese 1339UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

531 woman talking DU English, just after 1300UT, heard "good evening", but no apparent ID beforehand

558 JOCR man in Japanese, then music, //1332 1339UT

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594 1341UT

576 2RN woman talking //792 1336UT, slight offset

585 7RN woman talking //576 1336UT, at same time as

585 JOPG man and woman talking //594

603 HLSA easy listening vocal1347UT, but //558 not noted until 1355UT

621 3RN man with news //702, best 1303UT

657 female operatic singing 1337UT, programming points to North Korea

666 JOBK man talking //594 1337UT

711 man talking Korean? 1343UT

1134 JOQR man and woman in Japanese 1336UT

1332 JOSF man and woman in Japanese 1336UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 JOQG man talking //594 1356UT

549 2CR female ballad //594 1354UT

558 HLQH didn't turn up here until 1355UT //603, quiet vocal

594 3WV as 549, but buried quite deeply under JOAK 1354UT

639 JOPB piano music //774 1329UT

675 woman talking DU English intonation 1329UT; NZ? as not // with 702 or 612

693 JOAB man talking //774 1303UT

738 2NR woman talking //612 1353-4UT

846 NHK1 group vocal //594 1327UT

891 woman and man DU English intonation 1349UT

891 JOHK man talking //594 at 1354UT

954 man talking Japanese intonation 1358UT

1179 woman talking Japanese intonation 1340UT

1476 woman talking, Chinese intonation? 1347UT

1503 JOUK man talking //594 1259UT, pips at 1300UT

1539 man talking DU English intonation 1344UT

1701 assumed R. Brisvaani, being 30Hz high; man talking and into Arabic sounding chant 1344UT. Is this puppy really 100 watts?

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

837 855  864 945 1053 1098 1116 1161 1314  1323  1386 1404 1431  1458 1494 1593 seemed to be Asian;
531 657 1017 1098 1611 1629 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
