If your grass is long ..ie not a place where you'd mow under the antenna,
I'd go 3 ft so tall wet grass won't be touching the antenna. When mine was
only up a ft, snow was an issue and I experienced some loss of F/B. 73 KAZ

I use 2 ft. Others use 3 ft and also get great results. I tried 1 ft, and
F/B nulls degraded somewhat and even fine tuning the resistance (Rt)
results showed a least a couple dB less null. 73 KAZ
