[IRCA] TP 5 Sep Victoria version.

I agree with Bruce about the quality of the morning listening, especially from about 1300-1325UT. A mixture of Asia and DU, with the former dominating. I'm sure there were lots of things I missed.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK woman in Japanese after pips 1300UT

774 JOUB man in Japanese 1306UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR man and woman talking ABC mention 1324UT

747 JOIB man in Japanese 1309UT

828 JOBB English lessons 1259UT

972 HLCA likely, pop music 1302UT

1566 HLAZ woman in Japanese with usual s/on announcement 1230UT, but deteriorated pretty quickly afterwards

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 3WV man in DU English o/JOAK 1318UT

693 JOAB sneaking past 690 crud, English lessons 1259UT

756 woman and man in DU English 1316UT, assumed RNZ National

891 JOHK man in Japanese //594 1313UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 woman talking DU English intonation 1301UT

567 JOIK man talking //594 1302UT

567 woman talking DU English intonation u/JOIK, might be 4JK again?

603 likely Waatea, woman then man in island language? 1320UT

702 pop music not //612 1324UT; Magic NZ?

837 4RK woman talking //594, but not JOAK, the other guy...

837 JOQR woman talking //594 1318UT

873 JOGB man talking //774 1305UT

918 pop vocal, almost an island sound 1319UT, no idea, suspect DU

954 man talking Japanese intonation 1303UT

1116 man talking DU English intonation 1318UT

1161 man talking, didn't sound Chinese, or DU English either. 1323UT

1242 pop ballad 1321UT...likely JOLF?

1287 man talking, Japanese intonation 1311UT

1323 woman talking, Russian? 1301UT, but nothing on hour of course

1422 woman talking, Japanese intonation 1304UT

1674 man talking, brief fade up, sounded more DU English than Indian, but was pretty rough 1322UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

864 963 1053 1179 1197 1143 1206  1332  1494 1593 seemed to be Asian;
576 585 675 738 1008 1017 1098 1503 1539 1548 1611 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
