Re: [IRCA] Loop comparisons / suggestions



I'm a fan of the Wellbrook for sure.... but I use much larger loops - one
is around 80m in circumference. The top is around 120'.  It was made this
dimension because a: that's what I first tried and b: it's just able to
handle the medium wave energy present. It's oriented to null the Edmonton
stations some 60km away. I also have a smaller one, not as high (top maybe
50') with about 40m of wire.  For most frequencies the larger loop is the
winner. This loop is split 32 ways and feeds all the various remotes and
local rx and is my go to choice for almost anything. You can compare them
for yourself if you wish - the on line Perseus with the remote antenna
switch has the bigger loop in position 1 (0db) and the smaller loop in the
2nd position(10db) as it repurposes the attenuator control signals to
activate antenna relays.
