Great topic as I've been stalling big time as far as erecting an EWE for 
myself.  I've been collecting notes on all the pertinent EWE etc.emails. You 
recommended an Amidon FT 50-43 toroid a while back. You also mentioned RG6 
for a coax, (I know preferences vary) What gauge wire do you use as your 
antenna?    Do you keep your transformer sealed up in a common hobby box?

Back to the reason I've been stalling. It's a matter of logistics here and I 
just have to decide how to settle it.  If I'm to shoot for any westerly 
direction, the front end of the EWE would be the farthest end away from my 
house if I want to contain the whole thing in my backyard, hi. --not to 
mention I have a very large evergreen to factor in.
