[IRCA] TP 22 Aug Victoria version.

A big mix today, with many carriers accompanied by mumbling, but not enough to make any guesses. Anything readable didn't last long.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

no

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

1566 HLAZ man in Japanese 1248UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

603 R. Waatea. island music //765 1300UT

756 RNZ National 6 pips on hour, man saying "at one o'clock" 1300UT

774 JOUB English lessons 1212UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 RNZ National man talking //675 1250UT

675 RNZ National, as above

747 JOIB sounded like English lessons //828 1216UT

765 R. Kahungunu island vocals 1253UT; //603 at 1300UT

828 JOBB sounded like English lessons //747 1216UT

972 female vocal, woman talking 1159UT followed by pips, so HLCA most likely

1575 man mumbling, couldn't guess at language 1253UT...Thailand?

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

594 738 864 1134 1143  12061287 1323 seemed to be Asian;
 576 585 612 702 837 846 891 909 1017 1098 1332 1548 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
