[IRCA] TP 16 Aug Victoria version.

Not a very exciting morning; definitely more DU audio than the last few days, but a few Asians poked through also.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

no

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR woman talking, DU English, fanfare with no pips,, ABC news 1300UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

738 2NR man talking rapidly, sports? "45 seconds left" //612, 1139UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 2RN wispy pips and fanfare 1300UT

585 7RN as above.

594 man talking, DU English intonation 1245UT

756 woman talking DU English intonation 1230UT

774 man talking, DU English? 1127UT (6 pips at 1200UT seem to indicate 3LO)

774 JOUB NHK2 interlude music, pips mixing with 3LO pips, followed by apparent English lessons mixing with ABC news, 1200UT

792 man talking, DU English intonation 1153UT

828 sounded like English lessons 1221UT, so likely JOBB

972 man talking, Korean intonation, 1213UT, and again 1237UT

1116 man talking DU English intonation 1243UT

1566 man talking sounded like Chinese 1211UT, nothing stronger than this turned up after 1230UT switch to Japanese program; presumed HLAZ

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 693 1323  seemed to be Asian;
567 621 657 702 828 1017 1098 1503 1548 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
