[IRCA] TP 13 Aug Victoria version.
Back solidly to Asians this morning, peaking just before 1230UT. More would have been heard, but the domestic splatter seems considerably worse than usual.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):
774 JOUB English lessons 1227UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1226-7UT
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1228UT, fading up to organ music running until 1229:30UT, followed by carrier cut, and return by 1230UT with Japanese program intro, only slightly stronger.
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
the above passing through
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:
612 4QR woman talking to man on phone 1238UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)
594 man talking Japanese intonation 1234UT
693 JOAB woman and man talking //774 1152UT
747 JOIB woman and man talking //774 1154UT; would have been quite readable without 750 splatter
828 JOBB pips at 1200UT in splash followed by English lessons by the sound of it
891 woman and man talking, DU English intonation 1253UT
1287 woman talking, Japanese intonation 1228UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)
864 981 1143 1188 1206 1242 1251 1323 1332 1386 1503 1575 seemed to be Asian;
531 594 603 621 675 702 756 1008 1017 1098 1548 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
