I talked with the General Manager of the Spokane
Citadel radio stations this afternoon and he set me
straight on which stations carry what sports.
KGA 1510 does NOT carry Eastern Washington University
basketball, but they do carry EWU football. The game
I mentioned yesterday that will be broadcast on KGA
this Saturday, 11/26 (EWU vs. Northern Iowa, at 8:05
PM ELT) is a football playoff game, not a basketball
game. Sorry about the mis-information yesterday. You
may have already guessed by now that I'm not much of a
sports or sprots fan.
KGA carries Gonzaga University basketball. EWU
basketball is carried on KEYF 1050 Dishman-Spokane,
WA. KEYF is normally a Nostalgia music station, and
uses the slogan "10-50, The Key."
Someone in Oregon reported hearing a station with that
slogan not long ago and I'm pretty certain KEYF was
who they heard. KEYF only runs 260 watts at night and
I think they're good about powering down so they would
be a nice catch at night in western Oregon.
Oh, I wanted to also mention that EWU basketball is
carried on KTCR 1340 Kennewick (Tri-cities), WA.
That should set the record straight and I hope
everyone has a great Turkey Day!
