[IRCA] TP 5 Feb Victoria version
A very mixed bag today with everything apparently from New Zealand to
China being heard, if only briefly. Conditions were erratic, and
stations heard were in the lower part of the band. No sunrise enhancement.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
747 JOIB woman in Japanese 1510UT; don't when s/off was today for
NHK2, as there still seemed to be talk after 1540UT, but that was
about the last audio.
828 JOBB woman in Japanese 1507UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK woman and man in Japanese 1439UT
972 HLCA female vocal, woman in Korean 1459UT fading down to pips on hour
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
576 2RN man in DU English //846 1441UT
612 4QR man in DU English 1440UT
639 CNR1 man in Chinese 1450UT; weak CNR pips heard on hour
702 2BL man in DU English //612 1444UT
756 fade up to man and woman in DU English 1439UT, presumed New
Zealand but no parallels available
774 JOUB noted various times //747 and/or 828, but never really
amounted to much
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
567 JOIK woman talking //594 1442UT, 594 fighting with something else not ID'd
675 man talking, DU English intonation 1513UT, no parallels
693 JOAB woman talking //774 1504UT
846 2RN man talking //576 1441UT
873 JOGB woman talking //774 1515UT, creeping past splash
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
603 891 918 954 1134 1206 1503 1566 seemed to be Asian;
594 846 855 882 891 1008 1017 1098 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
