This is a time when we would normally be heading "out" of a DX season -
but this one seems to be backwards - as if we are building up to something.
1410 - 1420 UTC This morning, much like yesterday, was perking like a
coffee maker full of Folgers
with audible signals starting at 531 khz - moving through 558, 567, 594,
603 (often way better than 594 khz) 621, 639, 657
Nothing on 675 and I specifically looked closely - carrier but not enough
for audio, 702, 711, 747, 756, 774, 792, 819, 828, 837, 846,
855, 864, 891, 909, 918, 936, 945, 954, 972 HUGE, AND THEN WE hit the
cliff.... fair audio on 1053 and 1566 khz.
When I returned (post shower) at 1450 the very upper section of the band
lit up like a roman candle - 1593 being the loudest I have
heard it in a long time with 1575 and 1566 quite subdued. There was fair to
good audio on channels like 1557, 1521, 1503, 1458, 1422, 1377 and
then a gap down to 1287 (japanese) and then the band gapped out down to
1053 again...
Off to work. At 1540 there are still a few signals present on the NHP
fishbarrel (which has been working like a charm in his absence...)
but slightly quieter than yesterday.
Fingers crossed for good DX on my primary listening day: Saturday!

Good DXing everyone!
