[IRCA] TP 8 Sept Victoria version

No real enhancement at sunrise today; in fact the best action was around 1200UT. There was some sort of big sports deal on ABC, but life was too short to twirl around their website trying to figure out what it was.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 RNZ National pop vocal 1220UT //675 which was much weaker
621 man and woman in DU English 1218UT; 620 was down so far that this dominated in AM mode, and even in LSB. Assumed 3RN though no parallels. A minute later this had gone and 576 had a similar man and woman

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

828 3GI man in DU English 1152UT //774
909 soft music 1157UT, faded down as man talked with DU English inflection

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

558 island vocals 1147UT, likely Fiji
585 7RN pips and fanfare 1300UT
594 3WV pips accompanying sports announcer 1200UT //774 etc.
603 //765 non-descript music then man talking over top of it 1148UT; NZ Maori stations
612 4QR/ 774 3LO man talking, increasing intensity; sports of some sort? 1152UT
675 RNZ National female vocal muisc //567 1150UT
702 couple of commercials? DU English inflection, then man and woman alternating news items? 1200UT, not //ABC, so Magic?
 819 RNZ National man talking //675 1154UT
891 likely 5AN man building to a crescendo, //774 and 594, 1159UT, but they had pips on the hour; this didn't

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

nothing seemed to be Asian;
837 846 855 882 1008 1017 1098 1116 1368 (not 1386) 1458 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
