[IRCA] TP 15 Aug Victoria version

Asians were mostly big guns, but low band DUs around 1300UT got interesting. May have been more there that I missed.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not quite today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

585 7RN surprise of the morning; peaking at this level just after the fanfare, "foreign minister Julie Bishop should be ashamed" 1301UT
612 4QR woman and man in DU English 1246UT assumed this
774 JOUB...English lessons 1242UT
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1209UT...the Japanese program got to this level a few times after 1230UT, but no better

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 3WV man and woman talking //702 1230UT
603 jazz female vocal 1259UT, man in DU English , but no ID...seemed // with near imaginary 765
675 man in DU English, assumed RNZ National1239UT
702 2BL man and woman DU English 1230UT //594
747 JOIB English lessons fighting 750 splash 1225UT
756 RNZ National assumed, man in DU English
972 HLCA woman in Korean 1125UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 2RN woman talking DU English inflection 1234UT ID'd later //3RN
621 3RN man talking //576, slight offset, 1301UT
639 5CK woman talking //891, slightly delayed 1304UT
891 5AN woman talking //639 1304UT
1287 man talking Japanese inflection 1235UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 594 945  1206  1323  seemed to be Asian;
 558 567 837 864 882 909 1098 1503 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
